Church Notices for week beginning 16th September

This morning we had one of our own congregation leading the service, Mrs Margaret Jones.  The service was followed by our Quarterly Church Meeting.


Notices for the coming week

Tuesday 18th September - Knit & Natter Social Time meets in the hall at 10.00am.

Games Afternoon for the young & not so young meets in the hall at 2.00pm. 

Rainbow Tribe & Spectrum meet from 6.00pm

Wednesday 19th September - Christian Aid Quiz Night in the Old Parish Church Hall at 7.00pm. Teams of 4, entry fee £10.00 per team.  Supper will be provided.

Thursday 20th September -The Girls Brigade meets in the church & hall at 6.00pm

Next Sunday 23rd September - Church Service & Sunday Seekers is at 10.30am when the service will be conducted by the Rev Iain Mackenzie.

Additional Notices

The induction service for Rev David Whiteman at Annan Old Parish

will be on Thursday 27th September at 7.00 pm in Annan Old Parish Church.  It is hoped that our church family will support this important service.

Prayer Handbook.  Anyone wanting a prayer handbook for next year, please see Jim Murray by no later than next Sunday 23rd September.

The total raised at the Harvest Lunches held on Thursday 13th September was £603.45.  Our grateful thanks to all those who helped on the day & also to those who came along & supported the event.

Reminders

Next Sunday is the last date for items for the October edition of the Newsletter.  If you have an article for Ruth please get it to her as soon as possible.

As part of our fundraising efforts, a Meal & Concert featuring The Border Strathspey & Reel Society is taking place in the church on Saturday 29th September.  Prior to the concert a meal will be served in the church hall at 5.00pm.  The concert

will start at 7.00pm.  Tickets & menus are available from members of the Fund Raising & Social Committee & are priced at £10.00 for Meal & Concert and £5.00 Concert only. Please note that menus indicating your choice of meal must be returned by no later than next Sunday the 23rd September.

Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal.  We still have some empty shoeboxes to be filled for children for Christmas.  Please take some from the table at the back of the church.  We also have a number of children's woolly hats & scarves which are free to take away to be included in your shoebox.

Food Bank & Tombola. A reminder that dried, tinned & packaged items for the Food Bank & prizes for the Tombola are still required.  Contributions can be left in the marked boxes in the church vestibule.
